The NIO ET7 is a premium electric executive sedan positioned between the younger, sportier NIO ET5 and the flagship NIO ET9. All three belong to NIO’s advanced pure-electric saloon family, sharing a high-performance platform, intelligent architecture and support for NIO’s battery-swapping ecosystem. While the ET7 focuses on long-range capability, intelligent driving and executive-class comfort, it remains more accessible than the ultra-luxury ET9 and more spacious and refined than the compact, performance-oriented ET5.
The ET7 follows NIO’s clean executive design philosophy and sits at the centre of NIO’s saloon lineup: larger and more formal than the agile ET5, yet more compact than the flagship ET9. Its 5,101 mm length, 1,987 mm width and long 3,060 mm wheelbase deliver a balanced, stretched silhouette with excellent rear-seat space.
A low drag coefficient of 0.208 is achieved through smooth surfaces, a sloped windscreen, a fastback roofline and active aerodynamic elements, an approach shared across NIO’s family design language.
The ET7’s cabin is conceived as a calm, spacious “second living room,” sitting between the sportier, driver-focused interior of the NIO ET5 and the ultra-luxury lounge-style experience expected in the ET9.
Clean lines, open surfaces and materials such as Karuun rattan and Nappa leather create a warm, premium environment. A panoramic glass roof and ambient lighting enhance the lounge-like feel, supported by extensive sound insulation.
The ET7 features NIO’s second-generation digital cockpit, centred around a 12.8-inch AMOLED display, a 10.2-inch instrument cluster and a large head-up display. NIO Link PanoDisplay enables each passenger to access screens, apps and connected services, supporting entertainment, productivity and multi-device connectivity.
A 7.1.4 surround sound system with 23 speakers delivers immersive audio, further enriched by synchronised ambient lighting. Built-in 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and seamless integration with the NIO Phone allow the ET7 to function as a mobile office.
NOMI, the AI digital assistant, responds to natural voice commands, manages key vehicle functions and offers a privacy mode that disables cameras and microphones when needed.
Battery options include 75 kWh, 100 kWh and an ultra-long-range 150 kWh pack. The largest pack enables a driving range of over 1,000 km under CLTC conditions, while the 100 kWh pack delivers competitive WLTP figures.
Drivers can choose fast charging or NIO’s Battery-as-a-Service model. Power Swap Stations enable a full battery exchange within minutes and allow flexible upgrades — use a smaller pack for daily driving and temporarily switch to a larger one for long journeys. Continuous monitoring and diagnostics ensure long-term safety and reliability.
As with the NIO ET5 and NIO ET9, the ET7 is fully compatible with NIO’s battery-swapping system, allowing shared pack upgrades and seamless long-distance travel across the entire saloon lineup.
A dual-motor all-wheel-drive system produces up to 480 kW and 850 Nm, accelerating the ET7 from 0–100 km/h in under four seconds. Strong braking hardware and energy recuperation systems support both performance and efficiency.
An advanced air suspension with Continuous Damping Control adjusts ride height and damping in real time. NIO’s 4D Smart Suspension predicts bumps using map and sensor data and prepares the chassis in advance. An integrated chassis controller coordinates suspension, braking and other systems, and can be enhanced through over-the-air software updates.
The ET7 is engineered to meet leading global safety standards. Its rigid steel-aluminium hybrid body and seven-airbag layout, including the front centre airbag, provide comprehensive protection.
NIO’s NAD platform combines Aquila Super Sensing and Adam Super Computing. Aquila integrates LiDAR, high-resolution cameras, radars and ultrasonic sensors for 360° perception. Adam delivers more than 1,000 TOPS of computing power to run advanced perception and control algorithms.
Functionally, NAD supports highway navigation assistance, traffic jam assist, automated parking and battery-swap alignment. A wide range of driver-assistance and collision-avoidance features operate continuously as driver aids, with capabilities expanding through frequent software updates.
Like the ET5 and ET9, the ET7 comes equipped with NIO’s full suite of sensing hardware and supports ongoing expansion of NAD capabilities through continual software updates.
The NIO ET7 blends long-distance capability, intelligent technology and a serene, lounge-like interior into a refined executive EV. Positioned between the dynamic ET5 and the flagship ET9, it represents the balanced centre of NIO’s saloon lineup, offering more space and comfort than the ET5 while remaining more accessible than the ultra-luxury ET9. Its LiDAR-enabled sensing, battery-swapping compatibility and powerful computing architecture reflect NIO’s vision of the smart electric car as both a living space and an intelligent driving partner.
