As NIO’s flagship in the large three-row SUV segment, the 2026 ES8 is designed as a full-scene technology flagship SUV for global users. It meets the higher expectations of families and business customers for space, intelligence and luxury.

Measuring 5,280 mm in length with a 3,130 mm wheelbase, the ES8 presents a confident, stable flagship stance and maintains composure across diverse global environments, from city roads in China to European motorways, the heat of the Middle East and the variable conditions of Africa and Southeast Asia.

Together with the more agile mid-size NIO ES6, it forms NIO’s dual-flagship line-up, offering different sizes for different usage scenarios.

Flagship Design: Confident Proportions and Original Aesthetics

The ES8 follows NIO’s original Design for Success philosophy. The X-Bar front fascia and shark-nose profile deliver a strong first impression, complemented by delicate, precise Double-Dash crystal daytime running lights. At the rear, the full-width Featherlight tail lamp, which features 600 LEDs, ensures exceptional night-time visibility.

A long, clean side profile, 2.5 m² of flat side windows and a broad shoulder line give the ES8 a true sense of luxury and presence. When the driver approaches, the welcome-light carpet, projection lamps and automatically lowering air suspension create an elegant, ceremonial entry experience.

Spacious Three Rows: Comfort in Every Seat

Available in six- or seven-seat layouts, the ES8 focuses on making every seat genuinely comfortable. The cabin offers 2,757 mm of longitudinal space, with up to 1,407 mm of second-row legroom. Independent third-row seats provide electric fore-aft adjustment and multiple backrest angles for relaxed long-distance travel.

The interior features 4.7 m² of glass area, including large corner windows that enhance the third-row view. Storage is equally generous: a 230-litre front compartment, a 547-litre rear space, and up to 3,230 litres with the dual-layer layout expanded, making it suitable for family trips, outdoor activities or business needs.

One-touch privacy mode transforms the cabin into a mobile dressing or make-up space, while the second-row sky screen, fold-out tables and screen-casting features allow the ES8 to serve as a mobile office or family entertainment hub.

The ES8’s wraparound cabin uses extensive soft-touch materials to enhance premium comfort. The fifteen-layer seat structure provides strong ergonomic support, and the upgraded Queen Seat offers 20-way adjustment with a 325 mm leg rest for effortless long-distance comfort.

At its core is the NT.Cedar intelligent system, featuring high-performance central computing, gigabit Ethernet architecture and the SkyOS Tianshu full-domain operating system. Sharing the same intelligent platform as the ES6 ensures unified technology expression across global markets.

Three flagship displays anchor the digital experience: a 21.4-inch Mini LED Sky Screen with Dolby Vision HDR, a 38-inch panoramic AR-HUD with 20,000-nit brightness that remains clear even under intense sunlight, and a 15.6-inch OLED central display for daily control. With the 27-speaker Tianqin immersive audio system and the Art Space lighting mode, the ES8 can transform into a private cinema almost anywhere.

Performance, Safety and Intelligent Driving: All-Round Flagship Capability

A 102 kWh battery enables up to 635 km CLTC range, while 0–100 km/h acceleration in 3.97 seconds delivers clear flagship performance. A smart dual-chamber air suspension, ZF CDC dampers and front and rear five-link suspension maintain stability on highways, uneven surfaces and mountain routes. Agile-turning technology reduces the minimum turning diameter to just 5.7 metres, improving manoeuvrability in city environments.

The body combines high-strength steel with a high proportion of aluminium alloy, supported by a multi-ring front structure and eleven airbags for robust protection, surpassing typical global five-star safety benchmarks.

For intelligent driving, the Cedar AQUILA sensing system integrates 31 sensors, including LiDAR, 4D imaging radar and 8-megapixel cameras. The in-house Shenji NX9031 chip and the Cedar ADAM computing platform power the NIO World Model (NWM), supporting full-domain navigation assistance and intelligent parking across diverse global environments.
